Noom focuses on psychology and courses. RESET also cares about psychological safety, but builds the experience around personal creator programs, fast logging and transparent rule-based advice — without long daily lessons.

When the other app is the better choice
If you want a human coach and a structured course, Noom is built for exactly that and RESET is not. Daily lessons, a curriculum and someone to answer to are a genuinely effective combination for some people, and if that is what has worked for you before, it is the honest recommendation.
When RESET is the better choice
If you have started a course like that and drifted away from it by week three, the lessons were probably not the problem — the daily time cost was. RESET asks for the time it takes to log a meal and follow a programme, not for a lesson every morning. The psychological care is in how the app talks to you rather than in a curriculum you have to keep up with.
The difference that actually matters
Both products take seriously the idea that eating behaviour is psychological, and reach opposite conclusions about what to build. Noom teaches: lessons, coaching, a vocabulary for your own habits. RESET removes friction and pressure: no shaming language anywhere, no alarmist red, no comparison with other people, and a plan that adjusts rather than a target you fail. Colour-coding food is a teaching device and it works for some people; it also creates a good-food/bad-food frame that is exactly what somebody with a difficult history with food does not need. We chose not to have one. Neither approach is wrong — but they suit different people, and you probably already know which one you are.
What RESET deliberately does not do
RESET is mobile-only: there is no web app to log from at a desk, and that is a decision rather than a gap — the moment you need it is standing in a kitchen, not sitting at a laptop. There is no social feed, no likes and no public rankings: the content is a knowledge feed you can save and share, and your progress is private by default and shared with nobody unless you choose a friend yourself. We do not diagnose, treat or promise a result — RESET is a wellness service, not a medical device, and anything that belongs to a doctor is sent to a doctor. And the AI features are optional extras: every core part of the app — logging, the plan, programmes, recommendations, progress — works with them switched off entirely.
Questions people actually ask
Is there a human coach?
No. Support in RESET comes from the programme itself, the recommendations and a friend you invite. If one-to-one coaching is what you are buying, Noom offers it and we do not.
Are there daily lessons?
No. There is a knowledge feed you read when you want to, and programmes that carry their guidance in the week itself. Nothing accumulates unread while you are busy.
Does RESET label foods good or bad?
No, deliberately. Foods are described by what they contain, not sorted into categories that make you feel a certain way about eating them. Going over your plan produces "a little more than planned today — we will balance tomorrow", not a failure.
What about the psychology, then?
It is in the product rather than in a syllabus: no guilt copy, no streaks to break, weight described as changed rather than gained, and every recommendation carries its reason so nothing feels arbitrary.
Which one should I pick?
If you want to be taught and held accountable by a person, Noom. If you want a plan, programmes and quiet daily support that does not need a lesson slot, RESET.
Why people choose RESET
Personal programs from creators, transparent rule-based advice that explains the “why”, and a tone with no pressure. We deliver the result, not a feature list.
Everything above describes each product’s public positioning at the time of writing, and deliberately avoids prices and feature lists, which change. Check the other app’s own site before deciding — we would rather you chose correctly than chose us.
This comparison is provided for informational purposes based on publicly available information. Product names belong to their respective owners. RESET is a wellness service, not a medical device.
